Crowd Compass Firmware Version 1.2.0

Revamped Pairing Process 🔗 

  • Reliable Pairing: The Compass-to-Compass pairing now works every time—even for large groups.
  • New UI Enhancements:
    • A progress indicator around the compass perimeter shows how much time remains for discovery.
    • As they pair, your Crowd Compass displays the number of other Compasses discovered, helping you confirm everyone is connected.
      • The final number should be the same on all your Compasses.
      • The final number should be the number of other friends you have in your group. In other words, your group size minus one (you are not counted).  

Clearer Messaging & Interface 💡 

  • The device will now display "HI" during boot, so you know it’s powering up.
  • Added "ZOOM OUT" prompt alongside the scanning animation when your Compass knows the location of your friends, but you need to zoom out to see them. 
  • Updated text:
    • "NO FRIENDS FOUND" → "NO FRIENDS WITH POSITION IN RANGE" (you may be able to message your friends, but they do not have GPS yet).
    • "CONTACTING OUTER SPACE" → "SEARCHING FOR GPS SIGNAL" for a more intuitive experience.

Faster Updates & Flexibility ⚡ 

  • 22% smaller firmware files mean updates are ~2 minutes faster!
  • Enter or exit Party Mode anytime—even without being in a group.
  • Join groups via QR code scanned in the Companion App.

  • Additional bug fixes from our terrific user feedback!
